Chicken Shu Mai Dumplings



Chicken Shu Mai Dumplings are a tasty and salty dim sum dish that goes well as a snack or starter. The filling in these dumplings is a tasty mix of ground chicken, shiitake mushrooms, and fragrant spices. They are sure to please everyone at any event.

Ingredients:

  • 250g ground chicken
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped shiitake mushrooms
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped water chestnuts
  • 2 tablespoons finely chopped green onions
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon grated fresh ginger
  • 1/2 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 package round dumpling wrappers

Instructions:

In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, shiitake mushrooms, water chestnuts, green onions, soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and white pepper

Mix until well combined

Take a dumpling wrapper and place a spoonful of the chicken mixture in the center

Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water and fold it in half to form a half-moon shape

Pinch and pleat the edges to seal the dumpling

Repeat this process with the remaining wrappers and filling

Place the dumplings on a steamer tray lined with parchment paper or cabbage leaves

Steam the dumplings over boiling water for 12-15 minutes or until they are cooked through

Serve hot with soy sauce or dipping sauce of your choice
